In 1944, George Stinney, Jr., the son of Aime + George Sr. and brother of Katherine + Aime + Charles, was wrongly convicted and sentenced to death. At age 14, George was the youngest person executed in the United States in the 20th century. In 2014, 70 years after his execution, George’s case was reopened, and he was exonerated.
